Chatter Camp serves children ages 5-16 years who are nonverbal or have communication challenges and use augmentative communication devices (talking technology). The curriculum supports the frequent and effective use of the students’ personal technology. Students spend a week of camp together with highly qualified educators and volunteers. 

Chatter Camp is funded by the Friends of Special Children.

Signal Centers Chatter Camp 2022 Dates:

Signal Centers Children’s Program offers a unique summer camp for children 3-11 years, of all abilities. Camp Signal offers a quality camp experience while specializing in social and emotional development through fun projects and activities, and provides age-appropriate activities in art, movement, music, crafts, sponsors, water play, games, singing, dancing, drama, science, and technology.

The camp is supported, in part, through funding from the City of Chattanooga.

Signal Centers Summer Camp 2022 Dates:

  • Session 1: June 13th-17th
  • Session 2: June 20th-24th
  • Session 3: June 27th-1st
  • Session 4: July 11th-15th
  • Session 5: July 18th-22nd



Vision Camp is specially designed for elementary age children, teenagers and young adults who are blind or have low vision in activities such as technology, braille, orientation and mobility. This camp provides recreational activities such as cooking, canoeing, horseback riding, and other community outings provides an inclusive learning environment that encourages peer bonding, independent living, and community experiences. Our campers, are invited to join us for a summer filled with new experiences, learning opportunities, and a safe space to develop critical life skills.
