During high school I served as a peer tutor to young adults with a variety of disabilities and knew then that I had found my niche in life. Peer tutoring turned my life towards a direction I wasn’t originally heading towards, but I haven’t regretted turning back. I went on to complete my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at UTC and began working at Signal Centers shortly after. I was drawn in by the organization’s inclusive culture and commitment to our mission of strengthening the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. I was even more ecstatic in discovering the magic that happens within the adult day program. Serving as assistant director allows me to assist in planning and maintaining a creative and exciting life enrichment program designed to enhance the quality of life and independence for each participant we serve. Additionally, igniting the fire inside of me to obtain my master’s in human services, focusing on organizational leadership. I enjoy using my life to bring joy to others, helping them to better themselves; and allowing me to learn and grow in the process. Every day is a new, exciting day in our center, and I wake up every morning excited to tackle whatever adventure awaits me within these purple walls.

Hi, I'm the Assistant Director of Adult Day Services. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with my bachelor's degree in Social Work. I am also a member of the National Association of Social Work (NASW).

My journey with Signal Centers began in 2016 when I started volunteering. I entered the room and was greeted by the most energetic and creative adults I've ever met. I then completed my social work internship in 2019 and became a full-time employee the same year. Being in an organization that puts the individual's experience first (Yay for person-centered care!) is a place where I want to be.

One of the best parts of my job is listening to and engaging with our participants and families. Whether they need resources or want to create feather art, I'm glad they have a safe place to be themselves and ask for help.

Depending on the type of day, you can find me either working diligently on paperwork, assisting with activities, singing my heart out to Taylor Swift, or doing all three at once. There is hardly a dull moment in the Adult Center, and that is one of the reasons why I love it.

I retired from my 30-year career at Blue Cross Blue Shield, but I wanted to stay busy. A friend suggested I look for a part-time position and that’s how I found Signal Centers. I was surprised to learn that our Signal Centers building was at one-time the Sunnyside Elementary School. My son went there and I still live right down the block. I’ve now been with Signal for 10 years and I love it!
Each day I look forward to laughing and talking with our participants. I’m involved with everything from running the front desk to helping serve lunch and to just be there for our participants, so every day is a great day at Adult Day Services.

Bri Work

Bri Work

Hi! My name is Bri Work. I am the new Activity Specialist for Signal Centers Adult Day Program. I have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), as well as a certificate degree in Therapeutic Recreation from State University of New York (SUNY) Cortland. I’ve lived in Chattanooga for about six years now and love this beautiful city. My favorite things to do are exploring new restaurants, taking walks on the walking bridge, and going to the movies with friends. I’ve been married to my husband, Reid, for two years this July. Our small family also includes an adorable, weird, and fluffy husky named Nukka. I have already been welcomed to the center with open arms and kindness, and I am so excited about this new position!
