Signal Centers is the lead organization for the Chattanooga Interagency Council on Homelessness(CICH). Signal Centers will provide leadership, support, and coordination to implement the action plan and reduce homelessness in Chattanooga. This includes guiding the group’s vision and strategy, supporting working groups to advance each item of the action plan, establishing and measuring our community progress towards reducing homelessness, advancing policy changes at all levels of government, and mobilizing funding to support key projects and initiatives in the action plan. Signal Centers has hired Mary Ellen Galloway, Former Executive Director of Family Promise of Chattanooga, to serve as the Director of Homeless Services.
Mary Ellen has 21 years of experience in homeless and social services in Chattanooga. She is a dedicated individual who has extensive experience in administration, management, operations, fundraising, development, marketing, strategic planning, program planning, program evaluation, staff training, and is a trusted collaborator with local organizations.
Mary Ellen has a M.Ed from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work, a licensed professional counselor, and is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga. Additionally, Mary Ellen has served on local boards of directors and is a member of several local groups that work with individuals, families and veterans who are homeless.
Signal Centers has partnered with the University of Tennessee College of Social Work’s Office of Research and Public Service to provide a transparent community dashboard that presents the current state of homelessness in Chattanooga.
