Signal Centers, Inc. has always depended upon community volunteers to enhance the learning and teaching enviroment at the agency.

Soon, this page will contain details on volunteering for each program of Signal Centers, Inc., as well as a Volunteer Application.  Pictures from past volunteer events will be posted as well as thoughts and reactions from those who have spent time at the agency with the children and adults receiving services.  Check back soon.

Meanwhile, here are some current volunteer needs at the agency.  If you have any questions at all, please contact Teresa Jones, Coordinator of Marketing and Volunteer Services, at 423.698.8528 x 201 or teresa_jones@signalcenters.org

The Assistive Technology Center:  109 North Germantown Road, Chattanooga, 37411.

*  Volunteers are needed to move a media cart from classroom to classroom and set it up for the teachers to use.  The media cart contains computer equipment so basic computer familiarity, physical mobility, and an interest in working with children is desired.  This position is needed for one to two hours, in the mornings (Monday through Friday) for two or more days a week.

*  Volunteers are needed to assist in the adaptation of toys for children with varying disabilities.  Some manual dexterity would be required for simple sodering and rewiring of toys so that switches and buttons may be installed for children to use.  Some knowledge of electronics/wiring is desired.
